Culture, sport and tourism

Culture, sport and tourism has responsibility for indoor sport and leisure facilities, libraries, culture and heritage, sports and community recreation development and countryside management. Services include the provision and management of:

• leisure centres
• libraries
• sport and leisure development
• arts development
• countryside sites and countryside rangers

Planning and housing

• housing regeneration (including Housing Regeneration team)
• County Durham Plan
• planning applications
• Community Infrastructure Levy, including Section 106
• Housing Strategy
