Durham Advance

If you have a health condition or disability, or if you are aged over 50, you may be eligible for support to help you find the job you want to do.

Fill in our online Employability Durham enquiry form to find out about help and support available for you to find a job, upskill or plan for your future if you're aged 25 or over and live in County Durham.

You might be ready to jump straight into work or you might be thinking about training or volunteering first. You might not know where to start or maybe you're feeling overlooked in the recruitment field.

How we can help you

Let us help you with:

  • recognising your transferable skills
  • retraining or upskilling in a different job (funding may be available)
  • looking at opportunities and helping you make a plan for your future
  • understanding the jobs market and recruitment processes
  • demonstrating the skills you have to offer and preparing for interviews
  • introducing you to other services that can help you to meet new people, volunteer and gain confidence

You'll have an adviser that will spend time getting to know you and your situation. Together, you'll develop a clear plan to help you achieve your goals.

We'll help you source training and employment opportunities and we can give advice on CVs, job search and interview preparation.

There's also access to health and wellbeing services if that's right for you.
