Bookings for our events can only be made in individual household/bubble groups with numbers restricted to six people per group including adults. Any individual or someone in their household who is showing symptoms of or has tested positive for Covid-19 will be advised not to come to attend the booked activity and to remain at home.

Pre-activity information will be sent to you in advance of the event through email. If you do not receive this information, please contact us through our parks and countryside education officer.

Heritage Open Days Festival

10 - 19 September

Drop into the Community Garden during the Heritage Open Days Festival to see the range of vegetables and herbs the Friends of Wharton Park (FOWP) are growing and learn about what has been planted for the winter crop. Pick up an information sheet from the garden which has been produced by the FOWP volunteers to guide you with your own planting at home. The volunteers will be around at weekends (and mid-week) during the festival to answer questions and provide tips and advice. 

Autumn Adventures at Wharton Park

Don't squirrel away your Saturdays! Join the parks and countryside team as we explore, create and get active during our autumn adventures. Alongside their chosen activity each participant will be given an autumn adventure pack with activities, challenges and lots of juicy facts bursting from the pages. 

Saturday 18 September: Let's go fly a kite! 

Windy Hill is perfect for testing a kite, but how about a kite designed and built by you with help from the team at Wharton Park.

Time slots available between 10.00am and 2.00pm, each session will last approx. 45 minutes

£5.00 each (8 places per timeslot) due to reduced capacity only one accompanying adult per child.

Saturday 2 October: Spoon Scarecrows 

Celebrating the harvest season get creative and make your very own mini scarecrow to take home, can you spot our scarecrows hiding around the park?

Time slots available between 10am and 2pm, each session will last approx. 45 minutes

£5.00 each (8 places per timeslot) due to reduced capacity only one accompanying adult per child.

Saturday 16 October: Conker Creations 

What kind of conker creature can you create? Join us for some messy fun as we explore the seeds and the leaves of autumn.

Time slots available between 10am and 2pm, each session will last approx. 45 minutes

£5.00 each (Eight places per timeslot) due to reduced capacity only one accompanying adult per child.

Select the date and time you would like to participate and add it to basket. You can add more than one session into your basket at a time.

The activity will take place in the education yard and is fully outdoors so please wear weather appropriate clothing. Each participant will receive an autumn adventure pack bursting with activities, challenges and juicy facts.

Love Exploring space walk and dinosaurs

Download the Love Exploring App, find the augmented reality planets or dinosaurs and complete the themed quiz questions on this fun, interactive walk around the park.

The app is available on Apple and Android devices, but is not compatible with all mobile phones. Please check you can access all features of the trail before your visit.
