Daniel Kitson: Outside

Join comedian Daniel Kitson in our outdoor amphitheatre for an evening of comedy on Wednesday 27 July 2022.

Daniel hasn't been on stage for over two years. And, to be entirely honest, he's not really missed it.

It is, however, his actual job and everyone's gone back to work now. So, he's picked out a comfy pen, bought a new notebook and booked himself a summers worth of outdoor shows to find out whether he can still do his job and what, if anything, he has to say to large groups of people he doesn't know.

Please note: What with the two year gap and the lack of practice this entire tour will be, to a greater or lesser extent, work in progress and the shows are likely to be relatively rickety affairs. But on the up side, they will sometimes feature support and/or collaboration from Gavin Osborn (when his schedule allows) and Daniel's already written the question "Do worms feel fear?" in his new notebook, so we should be okay.

Also, if it gets boring - you can just use the time to look at the sky and feel small. Recommended age: 16 and over.

This performance will take place at the amphitheatre in the park. Seating will be unreserved and will be on the grassed banks of the amphitheatre so we advise you to bring a blanket to sit on. There will also be chairs available so there is no need to bring your own. Limited paid parking is available at the park so this will be reserved for Blue Badge holders only. Free parking is available at County Hall visitor car park DH1 5UQ which is a 10 minute walk away.

There are a number of steep hills and stepped access points throughout the park. It is advised that you contact the Gala Theatre to discuss the best access route should you have an accessibility concern. The amphitheatre does not have a roof, but the performance will only be cancelled if there is a safety concern for our audiences, staff or company.  Please dress for the weather!

Tickets are £12: Book for Daniel Kitson.
