Wharton Park events

New government guidance means you will be able to meet outdoors, in our parks, in groups of up to 30 people. Hand washing facilities are available in our toilets.

The cafĂ© is open Wednesday to Sunday, offering a takeaway service of light lunches, snacks and drinks between 11.00am and 3.30pm (times may vary). 

Toilets are open daily from 10.00am to 4.00pm and are cleaned regularly.

To reduce the risk of catching or spreading coronavirus, please continue to practice social distancing when meeting with others outside of your household or support bubble and wear a face covering in our indoor spaces.

Booking information - Bookings can only be made by individual households or support bubbles and numbers are restricted to six per group including adults. Any individual showing symptoms of Covid-19 or has someone within their household showing symptoms are advised stay at home.

Pre visit information will be sent to all ticket holders prior to the event taking place via email. If you do not receive this email please contact outdoorlearning@durham.gov.uk

We remind visitors to follow the current Government guidance when visiting the park. Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines when enjoying our park and activities.

Love Exploring Space Walk

From Monday 31 May 2021

Blast off this May half term with our brand new space walk. Download the 'Love Exploring' app, find the augmented reality planets and complete the themed quiz questions on this fun, interactive walk around the park.

The app is available on Apple and Android devices, but is not compatible with all mobile phones. Please check you can access all features of the trail before your visit.

Covid-19 information

Bookings for our events can only be made in individual household/bubble groups with numbers restricted to six people per group including adults.

Pre-activity information will be sent to you in advance of the event via email. If you do not receive this information, please contact our Education Team by emailing outdoorlearning@durham.gov.uk.

Any individual or someone in their household who is showing symptoms of or has tested positive for Covid-19 will be advised not to come to attend the booked activity and to remain at home.

We remind visitors and ticket holders to follow government guidance around social distancing when visiting our park grounds and family activities.
