Emergency road closures


Information about roads in the county that are unexpectedly and temporarily closed (for example, due to an accident or weather).

  • Whorlton Suspension Bridge has been closed to traffic due to a safety issue. It is still open for pedestrians and cyclists. A signposted seven mile diversion via Winston and Ovington is in place. 
  • The road between Meadows edge junction with B6278 to Allenshields is closed due to a damaged cattle grid. A diversion is now in place.
