2019 will mark the 50th anniversary of Durham's twinning with the German university city of Tübingen. Throughout 2019, guests from Tübingen will take part in a series of festivals and special events while representatives from Durham will travel to Tübingen to take part in the celebrations there.

Events at Durham Book Festival

Director of the Studio Literature and Theater of the University of Tübingen, Dagmar Leupold will join writers' panel discussion at Durham Book Festival.

This event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the twinning of Tübingen in Germany and County Durham, bringing together two writers to reflect on each other's cultures and to share the work they created inspired by their experiences. Chaired by Dr Caitríona Ní Dhúill, Durham University.
