Arriva

Arriva has extra buses to and from Durham from the following areas:

  • Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland (travelling on service 6) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday.
  • Newton Aycliffe & Ferryhill (travelling on service 7) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday.
  • Peterlee and Hartlepool (travelling on services 22 or 24) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday (service 24).
  • New Brancepeth (travelling on service 48) - additional later Sunday evening journeys.
  • Langley Moor & Brandon (travelling on services 49 & 49A) - additional later Sunday evening frequency.
  • Newton Hall (travelling on service 64) - increased later Sunday evening frequency.
  • Coxhoe & Bowburn (travelling on service X12) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday.

Go North East

Go North East has extra buses to and from Durham from the following areas:

  • Chester-le-Street & Birtley (travelling on service 21) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday between Durham and Birtley.
  • Gateshead & Newcastle (travelling on service X21) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday between Durham and Newcastle.
  • Bishop Auckland & Spennymoor (travelling on service X21) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday between Durham and Bishop Auckland.
  • Consett & Lanchester (travelling on service 15) - additional evening journeys including Sunday.  
  • Sacriston and Stanley (travelling on service 16) - additional later evening journeys including Sunday between Durham and Stanley.
  • Houghton-e-Spring (travelling on service 20) - additional later Sunday evening journeys between Durham and Houghton-le-Spring.
  • Seaham, Murton & Hetton-le-Hole (travelling on service 265) - Additional evening journeys including Sunday. These additional journeys will also call at High Pittington.
  • Langley Park (travelling on service 14) - additional later Sunday evening journeys.

Bus routes and stops affected by road closures

Some stops and routes in the city centre will change as a result of road closures in place to make the festival as safe and enjoyable as possible. Find out if your route is affected on the County Durham public transport timetables website.

Trains

If you're coming from further afield, you can catch regular trains to and from Durham - view live departures and arrivals.

Taxis
