Lumiere Park and Ride

The best option if you're coming to Lumiere by car is to head to one of our Park and Ride sites. We're operating an enhanced service throughout the festival which includes two extra sites, extended opening times and frequent buses to and from the city.

Cost

£2.00 per person return - concessionary pass holders and children under 16, who are accompanied by an adult over 21 years old, can travel for free.

The map below shows the park and ride locations and their corresponding drop off / pick up points in the city centre.

Last bus - 11.30pm

The last park and ride buses will leave the city centre at 11.30pm each night.

Car parks open all night

The car parks will remain open for people who want to stay in town later and get a taxi back. Cars are left overnight at owners own risk.

Disabled access

All buses have accessible facilities and our sites at Belmont, Sniperley and Howlands have accessible toilet facilities. Disabled bus pass holders can travel for free.

The Park and Ride service will operate as normal up until 3.00pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. From 3.00pm on these days, the link between Belmont and Sniperley will end, the Lumiere services will start and, as a result of road closures, some of the bus stops and routes will change during the afternoon.

See our Durham City Park and Ride pages for details.
