Whatever your level of fitness, or your goals, in our gym you can exercise in a way that best suits you. Our gym staff will help you develop a training programme and, with ongoing support, we'll help you achieve your goals.
Refurbishment works
We are carrying out refurbishment works at Peterlee Leisure Centre as part of our Leisure Transformation programme. The new look leisure centre will involve a significant works programme which is being carried out in carefully planned phases. The gym will remain open throughout the works, however, there will be some disruption such as changes to the entrance and changing facilities.
If you are visiting the gym please use the temporary entrance at the side of the building adjacent to the car park.
Gym availability
During the refurbishment works we have implemented a traffic light entry system to help you plan your visit.
The current capacity feature shows you how busy the gym is at the moment. The traffic light bars show you our busier and quieter periods based on an average week.

- Tuesday 6.30am to 9.30pm
- Wednesday 6.30am to 9.30pm
- Thursday 6.30am to 9.30pm
- Friday 6.30am to 9.30pm
- Saturday 7.30am to 5.00pm
- Sunday 7.30am to 5.00pm
