Advice if you're at high risk from coronavirus (shielding)

If you're at high risk (clinically extremely vulnerable) from coronavirus (COVID-19), there are things you can do to keep yourself safe.

virus

If you are clinically extremely vulnerable and you don't have friends, family or neighbours to help, we can put you in touch with organisations who'll be able to help you through this time. See how to get help if you're self-isolating. This includes information on food deliveries and medicines collections.

The government guidance is for everyone who has been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable. If you are in this group, you will previously have received a letter from the NHS or from your GP telling you this. The government will write to you separately to inform you if you are advised to shield. You are not advised to follow formal shielding advice again unless you receive a new shielding notification advising you to do so.

There is some general advice for everyone at high risk, as well as extra advice for local restrictions.

See the new government guidance on shielding in full.

Advice for clinically extremely vulnerable people at all tiers

The general advice applies at all local tiers. In addition to the rules we must follow in our area, you can take additional precautions to protect yourself. There is also specific advice for each level of local restriction.

See General advice for clinically extremely vulnerable people at all tiers.
