This library is currently open for our Pick and Collect service only.

This library is open for our Pick and Collect service at the following times:

Monday - 10.00am to 4.00pm
Tuesday - 10.00am to 4.00pm
Thursday - 10.00am to 4.00pm
Friday - 9.30am to 12.30pm

You must observe social distancing and wear a face covering when collecting your books.

Fines and request fees will not be charged while this is in place.

If you are a library member, you can also borrow ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines, enewspapers and ecomics free of charge.

If you would like to browse our catalogue, request an item or renew an item already on loan, please visit Library Online. This facility also offers members of the library service access to a range of websites including Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Grove Music Online and Encyclopedia Britannica Online.

How to get there

Shildon Library is situated next door to Shildon Health Centre, opposite St John's Church and the town square.

There is a bus stop outside the library for all the main bus routes through Shildon. A large car park is available behind the library.

Cycle parking facilities - there are currently no cycle parking facilities available at this library.
