Homelessness strategy consultation
This consultation gave you the opportunity to have your say on the updated strategy around homelessness in County Durham.
Our Homelessness Strategy is part of our Housing Strategy but a separate document required by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
What we consulted on
Homelessness in County Durham has been reviewed and the revised document sets out the strategic approach, key priorities and actions towards preventing homelessness across the county over the next three years. It has three aims:
- preventing homelessness
- more accommodation
- providing support
We wanted your thoughts on the strategy, and we will produce an action plan to make sure we reach our targets.
Have your say
The closing date for comments was 4.30pm on 8 March 2019.
Responses to the consultation will be considered in finalising the documents. The document will then be presented to a future meeting of our Cabinet for approval before adoption.
We will monitor and review the action plan annually through the Housing Support Group. An annual homelessness report will be produced and made available to councillors and corporate groups.
