This page tells you how to apply for Care Connect.


Our staff continue to wear full protective equipment (PPE) to protect themselves and you, use antibacterial gel for their hands and sanitise vehicles after visiting homes. We take all precautions to stop the spread of Covid-19.

How to apply

You can apply directly for our Care Connect service or Social Care Direct can help you Get your care needs assessed to determine your support needs and whether an alarm is appropriate for you. For more information about Care Connect see Care Connect, our alarm service page.

Apply to join the Care Connect service  online. You don't need an account, just select the option 'Continue anonymously'. Make sure you include your contact details so that we can answer your question.

Urgent referrals

If you have an urgent referral outside of normal office hours (after 5.00pm weekdays and weekends/bank holidays) please call us directly on 03000 262 195 (available 24 hours) and we will deal with your referral immediately.

What happens once you have applied?

We will agree a suitable date to visit you in your own home, conduct a survey and to gather personal data, this is so that we are aware of your personal needs. A monitoring alarm unit will then be installed.  

How much it costs

From April 2022 to March 2023 the charge is £5.38 per week + VAT. There is an additional charge of £3.17 per week + VAT if a SIM card needs to be installed in the alarm unit.

There is a one-off connection charge of £33.99 this will be advised at installation.

Additional features can be incorporated into your support package, at a small charge. These include (all prices subject to VAT):

  • Reassurance call - £1.41 per call
  • Weekly visit - £16.93 per visit
  • Additional/Replacement/Lost Pendant -  £37.47. This will be sent via the post and you will need to place a test call to ensure the pendant is working.
  • Additional/Replacement/Lost Pendant -  £71.46. This cost includes the staff visiting your property and installing the pendant and testing it.
  • Smoke detector - £74.79 + 70p per week monitoring costs

Cooling-off period

Our agreement with you allows you to access the service for up to 21 days before we request any payment. If at any time during this period you wish to terminate your agreement with us, the equipment will be removed without any charge. However the connection fee will still be payable.
