North Durham Community Led Local Development (CLLD)

If your organisation is in Chester-Le-Street, Dipton or Stanley, you may be eligible for funding through North Durham CLLD.

Our Local Action Group is looking for a project applicant that will prioritise activity delivery in the Dipton area (although not exclusively). We have a call open for European Social Funding (ESF) projects with public match funding with extended project delivery time to December 2022:   Icon for pdf Funding Opportunity - ESF Project Call (PDF, 183.9kb)

The following projects have been awarded funding to offer help to existing and new businesses, and individuals who are thinking about setting up a new business in our area:

If you are looking to access some of the support available through the projects funded through the programme get in touch and we can sign post you to the relevant project.

Funding available for new projects

Could your organisation offer new projects providing financial or non-financial support to businesses in our area. Helping them grow and develop and adapt to a changing economy, or perhaps help people to start up in business. 


North Durham CLLD has 4 priorities to address:

  • Enhancing economic inclusion
  • Stimulating entrepreneurism
  • Enterprising spaces
  • Developing growth and enterprise

What can the funding pay for?

The list below does not include everything that funding contributes towards - please contact us to find out if funding is available for your project or work.

See below examples of spending that you may be able to apply for funding for:

  • Improving and developing people, places or services within the community that will make life better for people in the community
  • Activity to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment
  • Business support activity, mentoring, coaching, information, advice and guidance
  • Support for new local business ventures, including social enterprises
