Life and Death as a Soldier in World War One

Apart from the famous Christmas Truce of 1914, when the German and British soldiers sang carols and played football in No Man’s Land, the soldiers found other ways to entertain themselves. This was important because much of their time was spent waiting for orders while they were in trenches or while they were in reserve, away from the front line.
