Jimmy's Life with The Durham Light Infantry

Frances Durham

Jimmy Durham's daughter, Frances, was born on 28 August 1910, three weeks after he died. Her birth certificate shows that she was born at 16 May Street, Bishop Auckland, where the parents of her mother, Jane, lived. Read details of Frances' birth certificate.

Frances later married a Mr. Jubb, but not in County Durham, as her marriage does not appear on the index to marriages in the county available on the Durham County Council website. She lived in Close House, Bishop Auckland until 1992, when she moved to a bedsit in Shildon. She died in 1998, in Portland House Nursing Home in Willington. A close friend and neighbour wrote that only her sister-in-law, her cousin and a few friends had been present at Frances' funeral.
