DRO DatabaseSearch InstructionsThe following instructions should assist you when making a search of the DRO Database online. Alternatively you can click the button below to go straight to the search screen.

- Enter between one and three 'keywords' or phrases in the keyword box(es).
- You can enter the words in upper-case or lower-case or a mixture, and all occurrences of those words will be found, irrespective of the case of the letters.
- All occurrences of the word you have entered will be found, exactly as you have spelt it.
- You can search the entire DRO Database or you can make your search more precise by selecting 'documents or images' and whether to include 'word variations' or not.
- To further refine your search you can choose a specific catalogue, catalogue title or category of records from the drop-down lists.
- Once you have entered the keyword(s), click on the 'Search' button.
- The 'results list' is shown in alphabetical order of the catalogue titles. The search will identify the first 250 items which contain matches for your keyword(s). If there are more than 250 items a message will be displayed asking you to refine your search.
- If you searched for 'documents' you should click on the catalogue title to view details. If you have searched for 'images' you can click on either the image reference number or the 'thumbnail' for further information.
- To find the precise occurrence of the word(s) within the 'catalogue details', hold down the Ctrl key and press the F key on your keyboard. This will bring up a small search box, into which you can enter a specific keyword. Clicking on the 'Find Next' button will take you to successive occurrences of the word(s). To search for another word you should click on the 'Reset' button and start again.
