| Frequently Asked QuestionsRecord Office Purchasing CopiesHow do I purchase copies?In the Search RoomYou will have access to a self-service microfilm reader-printer which provides copies from microfilm and microfiche. The cost of each copy is 50 pence. You are advised to bring small change as the mini-vend machine takes all coins except 1 pence pieces.We can photocopy most original documents (excluding photographs and Ordnance Survey maps) although this is at the discretion of the County Archivist. We will not copy documents if the original is too large or is in a fragile condition. The cost of each A4 or A3 copy is 50 pence for a black and white copy and £1.00 for a colour copy. We can make digital copies of most original documents and photographs and we can provide a copy either as a print, up to A3 size, or as a tiff on a CD. Charges are as follows:

By Post in the United KingdomWe will supply a copy of a parish register entry if you provide us with specific details, i.e. name of person(s), date of the event, and name of the parish. The cost of each A4 copy is £3.00.
We will supply a copy of an entry in a census return if you provide us with the address and the name of the person/family you are seeking. The cost of each A4 copy is £3.00. We can photocopy most original documents (excluding photographs and Ordnance Survey maps) although this is at the discretion of the County Archivist.
