Where will I find records of Jews?

The Record Office holds no records of Jews. Most records are held by synagogues, Jewish Institutions and Jewish burial societies.

A collection of records of the Jewish community in the Tyne and Wear area is held by Tyne and Wear Archives Service.

You will find some useful information on sources of records in The National Archives and on the Family Search website which is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
