Can I take out a new membership before the 1 October?
No, new memberships will not be available until 1 October.
Can I swim at any leisure centre if I have a gym membership for free?
You can swim at any leisure centre for free if it is within your leisure centre grouping as part of your membership package. If you want to swim at a pool that is within another leisure centre grouping there would be a charge of £1.00 to swim.
I have an annual membership can I upgrade to the new membership package to take advantage of the new benefits?
Yes, if you would like to upgrade to a new membership you can pay the difference remaining until your membership is due to be renewed. Please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to talk you through the terms and conditions and charges.
I have just taken out an annual membership. On 1 October the price is going down so I would like to upgrade my membership - what will happen to the price I pay?
You can upgrade to a new membership from 1 October. As there will be a price difference you will pay a number of months at the old membership price and a number of months at the new membership price. For more details please speak to a member of staff at your local leisure centre.
I have just taken out an annual membership and I don't want to upgrade to a new membership can I stay on my old package?
Yes, the price you pay will stay the same for the duration of your membership. If you stay on an old membership you will not have access to the benefits of a new membership.
Can I book in advance for group exercise classes?
Yes, if you are a leisure card holder you can book seven days in advance. If you don't have a leisure card you can book six days in advance.
If I have a Young Lifestyles Membership can I use the facilities at other leisure centres?
You can only access the gym facilities at the leisure centres that you took out the membership. You can however swim for free at any leisure centre during public swimming sessions with this membership.
Do I need an induction at every leisure centre gym I use?
No, however members will be required to book an appointment before using the gym. In this appointment you will be provided with essential site specific information.
Is there a gym at Riverside Leisure Complex?
No, however if you have a group 3 annual, or Direct Debit membership you are entitled to use the gym at Chester-le-Street Leisure Centre, Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex, Meadowfield Leisure Centre and Abbey Leisure Centre.
