Native.

Distribution

Widespread but more common in the east.

Habitats

Magnesian Limestone scrub, quarries, hedges, woodland margins.

Requirements

Broad tolerance.

Recommendations

An alternative to Dog rose but difficult to obtain commercially.

Origins/Provenance

Existing populations are wild. Use plants of local provenance. Allowing natural colonisation may be the preferred option.
