Important Information

Guestbook Rules

We want to hear your comments and publish them in our guestbook. Tell us what you think of this website, tell us about your local community, or issues that you are worried about.

We read every message before it is published. So remember:

  • No rude or horrible messages, eg saying nasty things about someone you don't like at school. If you say something nasty we will not publish your message.

We have rules to follow too:
  • We do not publish information about you on the guestbook, but you can choose to have your details published if you want to. If you choose to have your e-mail address publicly available on our guestbook, it may be picked up and used by people that send out lots of spam emails which you did not ask to get.
  • We will not publish entries which are anonymous (this means that we do not know who they are from).
  • We do not publish advertisements for goods and services on our guestbook.
  • We will not pass on your email address or any of your personal details to other organisations or individuals.
  • We will not keep your information longer than we need to.
  • We will only use your information in the way that you want us to.
  • If we use your information for our statistics, we will not reveal your identity.
  • We will not send you any post or email unless you have asked us to.

If you are under 16 years of age
  • Please ask your mum or dad or another family member, before using our guestbook.
  • Don't tell anyone any details about yourself (for example, your first name and surname, your home address, mobile number or email). See our safe surfing links for tips on how to stay safe online.

If you do not understand or agree to what we have said in this page, please leave the DCC Kids website immediately.

This policy applies to the DCC Kids website but not to sites that we link to. Durham County Council is the Data Controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Linking

We encourage users to establish hypertext links to the site. You do not have to ask permission to link directly to pages hosted on the DCC Kids website. We do not object to you linking directly to our information. However, we do not permit our pages to be loaded into frames on your site. Our pages must load into a user's entire window. Nor should you insert any graphic into, or play audio content over DCC Kids content, nor allow a pop-up to appear simultaneously with DCC Kids content.

We do not permit a website to link toDCC Kids if it contains material which is libellous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene, or is in any way a breach of the laws of England and Wales or infringes any third party intellectual property rights.
