  • Emissions and discharges, noise, energy, radiation, waste and other such substances.
  • Measures and activities such as policies, plans, and agreements affecting or likely to affect the state of the elements of the environment.

We may charge a reasonable amount for some requests.

Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 came into force on 1 January 2001. It gives you the right to request all types of recorded information held by public authorities. Requests under FOIA must be made in writing and must be dealt with within 20 working days. If you wish to obtain some information from us, you should first check whether it is contained on our publication scheme.

Publication scheme

Our Freedom of Information publication scheme is a guide to information routinely published by us.

We produced the scheme in response to the requirements of section 19 of the FOI Act 2000. It also supports our commitment to make information of public interest widely and easily available in the interests of open and accountable government.

Please note: There are varying charges for some of the items covered by the publication scheme and these are listed as part of the scheme, above.

Much of the information is available through this website, but for other information or any queries about the scheme, or about the publications available through it, please contact the Information Management Team.
