Secure email - Egress Switch
We are making some changes in the way we communication sensitive/confidential information with our external third parties. We are using a new email system called "Egress Switch" for sending confidential information securely.
Why are we using Egress Switch?
We have chosen to use Egress Switch in order to help comply with data protection regulations and ensure that when sensitive/confidential information needs to be shared, it is done so securely. This will help to make sure that our communications with customers, suppliers, employees and the wider business community are as secure as possible, when they include confidential or sensitive information.
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who are responsible for ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act in the UK, have the power to levy fines of up to £500,000 for data losses and breaches.
What you will need to do when you receive an email from us through Egress Switch
In order to access information sent to you by us through Egress Switch, you will need to register for a free account by clicking on the 'New User' link in the first email you will receive. Once you have registered for an account you can access all emails sent to you from us through Egress Switch by logging into this account with the user id and password you will have created.
It is possible that you may receive more than one email from us inviting you to register for your Egress Switch email account. Please note that you will only need to register once.
Using Egress Switch, you can respond to and initiate secure email correspondence with us free of charge.
