Are you a Carer?

Need a break?

Of course you do. Everyone needs a break sometimes, and this can be especially important for carers, as while being a carer can be rewarding, it can also be very demanding. People with disabilities and their families can find it difficult to have a break. From a leisurely day out to a holiday, this can seem out of reach.

There are fifty-six thousand carers in County Durham, which represents around one in nine of the population. This is why a new project to research accessible breaks and specialist holiday provision has been commissioned through the Carers Grant.

At present information is available on the internet via Community Information Online. This information is reviewed at least once a year, which ensures that it is accurate and up to date.
