Durham County Council Carer's Register
The Carer's Register is aimed at carers caring for a relative, partner, friend or neighbour who live in County Durham and who as a result of an illness, disability or addiction requires assistance in their daily living. This includes husbands, wives, parents, grandparents, children and young people. Many people do not recognise themselves as carers and are unaware of the help that is available. Carers come from all age groups, and from any ethnic, religious or racial background.
The Carer's Register is intended to assist us and other approved agencies when planning services and support to meet the needs of carers. The Carer's Register administrator works closely with the Carers Commissioning Policy and Planning Officer, the Social Workers on the Carer Development Team and with the Carers Centres and other carer providers in County Durham.
