1APP

The Government is introducing a standard set of application forms in England (1APP) which will replace all existing types of planning application forms (except minerals). From 6 April 2008, 1APP will become the only legal way of submitting a planning application (except in the case of minerals applications). The 1APP forms and related guidance, for a variety of applications, can be accessed from the following section.

You are encouraged to discuss your proposals informally with a member of the Planning Development Control team before submitting an application in order to obtain a view on whether your development is likely to be acceptable in planning terms and identify any important issues that you may need to address in your application.

When making a planning application you will need to provide the following:

• 1APP Application form (available below) which includes the relevant Article 7 Ownership and Agricultural Holdings Certificate. For Minerals development, a separate Minerals Application form is available for downloading.
• Design and Access Statement, if required (seeDesign & Access Statement Guidance Note (2 pages, 15kb)
• Plans
• Fee (fee schedule updated 1st April 2005).

Please make sure you have checked our Validation Checklist (draft) before submitting your application. If you do not send all the information we need, your application will be deemed invalid.
