Community Safety - Definition and Background

Community Safety Partnerships
There are five Community Safety Partnerships established across County Durham which fulfil the requirement for ‘responsible authorities' to work together to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and the misuse of drugs; a statutory duty determined by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

Community Safety Priorities
Key themes and priorities for community safety across County Durham, from the local and national agenda, are being addressed through the County Durham Community Safety Agreement.

Communication Strategy

Crime Prevention
Information on a number of crime and law enforcement related subjects, such as; anti-social behaviour, community safety and crime prevention, the Police Authority and prisons.

Fire Safety
Information and advice on fire safety, provided by the County Council and other organisations to help you to be prepared to ensure your own personal safety, and that of people around you.
