County Durham Statistical Profile 2008

The population and economy of County Durham are constantly having to adapt to change that is driven by a whole range of different elements. It is important that we constantly monitor any available statistics so that policy and planning decisions can be made in light of the situation that is currently faced by the County, and where possible, we must prepare for any changes that can be reliably predicted.


The following document uses a range of statistical indicators from the most recent data available to provide an up to date overview of the conditions currently being experienced in the County as a whole, it also briefly discusses the implications the findings may have in store for us in the near future and for the policy and planning decisions that may have to be made as a result.
