Parishes
An important requirement of the release of all Census statistics is that it is not possible to find out from the data the personal details of individuals. Therefore the data for each small area e.g. ward or output area, etc. is first scrutinised by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) to ensure that personal information is not being inadvertently disclosed within the data. This is the case with 31 of County Durham’s 129 parishes and so the data for these areas have been merged with the data for a neighbouring parishs and released as a single combined area. These parishes are:
