Tree Management
We are responsible for trees and hedges located in the highway, or on the boundary of the highway.
If you have problems related to trees, hedges, or foliage in the highway in general, these should initially be directed via the Highways Action Line.
Landowners are responsible for trees and hedges located adjacent to, but outside the boundary of the highway.
Our Highway Inspections enable our roads to be reviewed on a regular basis. Faults will be dealt with as and when they are discovered.
Our inspections frequencies table is as follows:
| Category | Hierarchy Description | General Description | Frequency |
| 2 | Strategic Routes | Non-Motorway Trunk Roads and some principal "A" roads between primary destinations | 1 Month |
| 3a | Main Distributor | Major Urban Network and Inter-Primary Links. Short to medium distance traffic | 1 Month |
| 3b | Secondary Distributor | Classified Road (B & C class) and unclassified urban bus routes carrying local traffic with frontage access and frequent junctions. | 1 Month |
| 4a | Link Road | Roads linking between Main and Secondary Distributor Network with frontage access and frequent junctions. | 3 Months |
| 4b | Local Access Road | Roads serving limited number of properties carrying only access traffic (e.g. Culs de sac) | 1 Year |
