Blue Badge Bays

These bays are reserved for vehicles displaying a valid blue badge. Any person not displaying a blue badge parked in such a bay, even if they are just setting down or picking up passengers, is liable to receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if parked within Durham district or a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) if parked elsewhere in County Durham.

A PCN or FPN can also be issued if the blue badge is displayed the wrong way round. You must display your badge with the expiry date and serial number visible from outside the vehicle. The photograph should never be visible.

Unless a blue badge is displayed, loading and unloading in a disabled persons parking bay is not allowed.

As with all parking bays, vehicles should be parked fully within the bay markings and you should not use the bay unless you are sure your vehicle can be parked fully within the markings. Any vehicle parked with at least one wheel outside of the markings may be issued with a PCN.
