Gully Cleansing

We clean gullies routinely as part of the Cyclic Maintenance Programme, this is one of our duties as Highway Authority. This is also carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the Code of Practice for the Highway Maintenance Management.

Where ever possible, we will promote environmentally friendly practices both in our operations and specifications of materials.

In order to retain the character of local environments, we also carry out additional cleansing in areas, which are more susceptible to flooding and this is carried out more frequently than elsewhere in the county.
