Glenholme Terrace Blackhall Colliery - Proposed Traffic Calming

In the interests of public safety County Councillor Jim Cox is promoting a scheme to introduce traffic calming cusions and lining works in the Glenholme Terrace/Meadow Avenue area of Blackhall Colliery. The scheme comprises three single length cushions (each cushion being 2.7m long x 1.0m wide x 50mm high), together with the associated advance warning signs.

Give Way lining works are proposed at the junction of Meadow Avenue. The works would be undertaken under a one day road closure, on a date yet to be agreed. The aim of the scheme is to maintain lower traffic speeds, and generally improve road safety.

The closing date for responses to the consultation has now past. No objections have been received, and the proposals are now proceeding to the next stage in the process. Local press and site notices will appear shortly giving details of the proposals and how to make formal objections.
