Freemans Place (Adjacent to Walkergate Development) Coach Parking

As part of the highway works undertaken in association with the recent Walkergate development, loading bays, Taxi Ranks and a Bus Stand were introduced.

The existing Bus Stand is located on the East side, which means passengers have to board and alight into moving traffic. We are therefore proposing to re-locate the Bus Stand to the South of its current position, opposite the loading bay. This in turn will mean the Loading Bay will be re-located to the original position of the Bus Stand.

In addition to this there are technical anomolies with the existing order which mean that enforcement of certain provisions or the order is not possible. We are aware of the current parking problems that are occurring at this location and the introduction of the new proposals will alleviate this problem.
