The Day Itself

January 15, 2008 was a chance for residents and visitors in Durham to think about how they were going to make their journeys and consider travelling by a means other than the private motor car.

So how did the day go? Well, it's fair to say that pretty much everything conspired against us... but still didn't put a lot of people of trying to travel differently on the day. Incidents on the A1(M) resulted in traffic being diverted through the city. Not wanting to spoil the programme, we won't go into too many details now - look out for updates on this site after it is shown.

The programme made in Durham will be broadcast as last in the series of three entitled "The Woman Who Stopped Traffic". It will be shown at 9.00pm on Channel 4 on Tuesday 11 March 2008.

For now, here are some photgraphs from the day.
