B6291 West Terrace/Coronation Terrace,Coxhoe - Proposed Traffic Calming

The proposed Traffic Calming scheme has been designed to address concerns of the local County Councillor, the Highway Authority and the Parish Council regarding the speed of vehicles on the B6291 through Coxhoe.

The scheme comprises Speed Cushions in sets of 3 or 4 across the carriageway at 7 different locations and 4 No. Advance Warning Signs. The aim of the scheme is to maintain lower traffic speeds and generally promote road safety. The use of 'triple cushions' should allow emergency service vehicles to straddle them and hopefully reduce the negative impact on their response times.

The informal consultation period for the proposals has now ended, and it is hoped to proceed to a formal publication of a Traffic Regulation Order and a formal consultation process as soon as possible.
