Bus Strategy

County Durham's Bus Strategy will bring together all policies and proposals regarding bus services and set out how they will meet the needs of people living and working in the county and comply with agreed quality standards.

Based on feedback and comments from people living and working in County Durham, the strategy sets out plans to develop bus services that are more co-ordinated, convenient and reliable.

It is aimed at encouraging more people to travel by bus, instead of by car, and at improving transport links in rural areas.

The Strategy is currenly in draft and is attached below.

We have recently carried out a consultation on the draft bus strategy and responses are currently being considered. The final document will be made available on this website in the near future.
