Financial Information

Fees

The fees will include accommodation, full board, cleaning of room and communal areas, provision of care staff on a 24 hour basis to provide personal care as outlined in the residents' Care Plan.

As far as possible, the home will seek to obtain services already available from the NHS, Social Care and Health or other appropriate organisations without incurring any charge to the resident.

As an example, the following services may be obtained from the NHS:

  • Chiropody
  • Pharmaceutical supplies
  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech therapy

Personal Monies

If you choose not to control your own financial affairs you should arrange for a legal advisor, bank manager, advocate, next of kin or a friend to do so on your behalf.

The Residential Manager and the staff of the home are allowed to handle the financial affairs of a resident or handle resident's money only with prior consent of the resident. Where the resident is unable to make that decision, consent will be sought only from the person to whom a power of attorney, receivership, appointeeship or other forms of legal authority have been granted. The home must keep and make available for inspection adequate accounts and records of transactions.

Insurance

The County Council does not arrange insurance cover for loss or damage to the personal belongings of residents. In view of this, you may wish to make your own insurance arrangements.
