Mendip House was refurbished to a high standard and re-opened in November 1993. Mendip is situated near the centre of Chester-le-Street within easy access to the local amenities. There are several clubs and pubs nearby along with a small grocery shop next door.

Facilities are of the highest standard which is matched by devoted and caring staff who ensure that residents enjoy their stay as fully as possible. There are several lounges at Mendip House all with colour T.V. and satellite channels. A range of activities are organised within the home that are centred on the wishes of the residents. As a result a pleasant, homely atmosphere is maintained.

The home caters for 28 residents and has facilities for two respite care beds.
