Lynwood House was opened in 1968 and is situated just on the outskirts of the rural picturesque village of Lanchester, just off the main Durham/Consett Road. It is convenient for all the village amenities and is well served by public transport to the surrounding areas. It is set in its own extensive, well maintained grounds and is surrounded by mature trees with and a stream running through the garden.

The entrance to the home is warm and welcoming as are the staff who make Lynwood a very popular home.

Lynwood House caters for 37 people and has 3 units, one catering for 10 people who are elderly, mentally infirm. The other 2 units cater for both men and women, 50% of whom are high dependency.
