Children's Information Service

The Children's Information Service is part of SureStart County Durham. The service provides detailed information to members of the public on everything to do with childcare. For example, the service holds information on all childcare services available in County Durham, which includes information on childminders, nurseries, playgroups, out of school clubs and much more. The service also provides information on how to become a childminder and on other careers in childcare.

The Children's Information Service Helpline is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. An answerphone service is available to take messages at other times.

Information on many childcare providers is also available via Community Information Online or you can also search the National Childcare Database at www.childcarelink.gov.uk.
