Carer's Register
The Carers Register is aimed at carers living in County Durham caring for a relative, partner, friend or neighbour who as a result of an illness, disability or addiction requires assistance in their daily living. This includes husbands, wives, parents, grandparents, children and young carers. Many people do not recognise themselves as carers and are unaware of the help that is available. Carers come from all age groups, and from any ethnic, religious or racial background.
The Register is intended to assist ust and other approved agencies when they plan services and support to meet the needs of carers. The Carers Register works closely with the Carers Development Officer and the Social Workers for Carers Assessments and in partnership with the Carers Centres and Projects in County Durham.
