The Register Office is situated on the outskirts of Peterlee in the quiet location of Acre Rigg. Car parking is available within the grounds and the building has disabled access although at present there is no disabled toilet provision.

Prior to the ceremony commencing, guests are invited to assemble in a separate marriage waiting area adjacent to the Sheraton Room. The Sheraton Room will accommodate up to 60 guests and is tastefully decorated in tranquil shades of blue and touches of gold.

With comfortably upholstered cherry wood seating and elegant drapery, the scene is further enhanced by fine Monet prints and beautiful silk flower arrangements, adding to the ambience of this lovely setting.

Upon completion of the ceremony, parties vacate the ceremony room through the Hawthorn Room, a private retiring room leading directly to a pleasant garden area designed exclusively for photography.

Ceremonies are held between 9.30am and 3.30pm weekdays and 9.30am and 12.30pm Saturdays. Ceremony times are also available outside of these hours by prior arrangement for which an additional fee will apply.
