Working with our Partners

To assist with the development of the Urban & Rural Renaissance Initiative and assist to drive the programme forward, a stakeholder group has been established.

Four events have been held to generate interest in and support for the initiative. The first on 8 October 2003 saw endorsement of the initiative. The second on 29 January 2004, further explored the key issues and themes. Quarterly newsletters and meetings twice a year will update the partnership.

The Third event on 21 October 2004 at County Hall celebrated some of the early achievements of the Initiative.

The Fourth event took place on 10 May 2005 at the Four Clocks Centre in Bishop Auckland.

The most recent event was held on 16 February 2007 at The Greenhouse in Derwentside to consider the future of the Initiative. A report detailing the outcomes will be considered by cabinet in June.
