County Durham Minerals and Waste Development Scheme
Due to local government reform in County Durham work to prepare the County Durham Minerals and Waste Development Framework has now ceased. The new unitary council will now instead prepare a county wide Local Development Framework. A new County Durham Local Development Scheme (LDS) was approved by Cabinet on 20 November 2008 and submitted to Government Office North East in December. This document sets out what new planning documents will be prepared by the new Unitary Council for County Durham and when they will be prepared. The new County Durham Local Development Scheme is available for download from the Council's main planning web page. Please note this new Local Development Scheme replaces the County Council's previous Minerals & Waste Development Scheme (MWDS) which came into force in April 2007.
