North East Consortium
This partnership has at is heart the promotion of our regional LEA co-operation, and the promotion and development of a culture of improvement, supporting schools and LEAs in the provision of improved services. Its five key aims are to: develop collaborative working between LEAs, support regional co-ordination of activity and developments, provide resources to support cross-LEA activity, realise economics of scale, and increase the choice and quality of provision for schools.
Raising achievement and continuous improvement are central concerns for schools and LEAs as the expectations of what they can achieve continue to increase. To meet this challenge, LEAs and schools have embraced a culture of continuous improvement as a core principle. Both LEAs and schools in our region have a wealth of experience and knowledge, proven track records and skilled and committed staff. Effectively harnessed, these resources are powerful tools in delivering the LEA agenda of school improvement.
The Consortium is dedicated to helping LEAs and other stakeholders in the current agenda work in partnership to meet current and future challenges, adding value to work on raising educational standards in the region across the full range of LEA activities.
The lead the North East Educational Authorities have shown in supporting the North East Consortium of LEAs is resulting in the successful provision of improved services and support for North East schools, and, together with other partners, the Consortium will continue to support the work of North East LEAs and schools in raising standards.
By sharing best practice, and expanding the culture of improvement, we believe that LEAs can provide improved services for their schools and help each other achieve their full potential.
