Highways

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can report a problem with roads, footpaths, streetlights or other issues to do with the environment, or by phone us on 0191 3706000.

This service is available during normal office hours but can be contacted outside of these times if your call is deemed to be an emergency.

Social Care

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If your query is about caring for an older person, a mental health issue, people with learning disabilities, child care or child protection, please contact us through our website or phone 0845 8505010.

This service is available 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Outside of these times, if your query is of an urgent nature you can contact our Emergency Duty Team on the same telephone number.
