Shincliffe Traffic Signals

These new traffic signals were installed to manage the extra traffic diverted through this junction as a result of works to construct the A688 Wheatley Hill to Bowburn Link scheme.

As well as providing a safe opportunity for vehicles to join the A177 from Mill Lane, they also provide:

• A specific 'Green Arrow' stage in the signal operation to deal with a build up of vehicles waiting to turn right into Mill Lane.
• Facilities for pedestrians and cyclists to cross Mill Lane and the A177.
• 'Rotating Cone' tactile devices which allow pedestrians with impaired vision to feel when it is safe to cross.
