Location and Access
We are situated in Millennium Place, just off Claypath and opposite the Gala Theatre. The building is easily accessible to wheelchair users and we have public lifts and toilets, automatic doors and a loop system installed.
The library is an innovative state-of-the-art building on 3 floors and forms part of the Durham Millennium City Project. It was awarded the Public Library Building Award 2003 for the best new public library in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
There is a multi-storey car park within the Walkergate Development that gives direct access to Millennium Place. Ideal for popping into the library for books, CDs, DVDs, checking your emails or meeting friends or family.
