European Public Information Centre

European Public Information Centres (EPICs) have been set up in the UK to improve knowledge of the European Union. Libraries are often the first point of call for members of the public needing to access such information.

Durham County Council Libraries are part of the EPIC network, consisting of approximately 200 library authorities, working together, to improve access to information on Europe and the EU.

This can include:

• EU facts and figures
• European Parliament and Commission
• European legislation
• European grants and funding
• Living, working and studying in Europe
  

The EPIC based in Clayport Reference library holds the main collection of European information and material.
